The Importance of Spay/Neuter
Approximately ONE MILLION pitbulls are euthanized every year in shelters across the country. This is primarily due to overpopulation – there are too many dogs and not enough homes. Responsible ownership by spaying or neutering your dog can help us combat this huge issue. Not only has it been proven to reduce the number of pitbulls in animal control facilities, in turn reducing the number of pitbulls euthanized, but it also improves the health and happiness of your dog. Altering your dog can reduce or eliminate the chance of certain cancers, improve behavior and reduce the chance of roaming, among other benefits. The procedures are extremely low-risk and most dogs are back to normal within a couple days. Adversely, there are no proven benefits to NOT altering your dog and many reasons given to not spay/neuter are false: altering your dog will not make him/her lazy, your dog will not be sad if it doesn’t get to have babies or mate, and it isn’t better for a dog to have “just one litter”. No matter how responsible a dog owner may be, mistakes can happen. The only way to guarantee you will not accidentally (or intentionally) contribute to the pitbull overpopulation problem is to get your dog spayed/neutered.

Free Spay/Neuter for Owned Cats
Details & Requirements:
• No location requirements but all surgeries will be performed in Dallas, Ga
• Must be an owned cat – NO FERALS
• Must show proof of current vaccination by a veterinarian
• Owner is responsible for transportation to/from surgery
• Availability is limited – First come, first served
